Zsofia Meszaros

Zsofia Meszaros was born in Budapest. After finishing her bachelor at the Universitat für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien by Oto Vrhovnik, she moved to Holland and continued her studies as a master student of  Johan van der Linden. She gained her Master degree in 2010.

She joined the European Saxophone Ensemble when it was formed in 2008 and represented Hungary in it for 3 years.

This orchestra consisted of 12 saxophonists in which Zsofia played the alto and baritone saxophone traveling with the band on tours in Europe and having numerous concerts.

She was a member of numerous formations in Holland and she is also the founder of an international baroque trio in which she played with a harpsichordist and bassoonist.

 

Nowadays she lives in Hungary and works with numerous formations such us the Ladies and the Gentleman saxophone quartet and the Duo Saxophistique saxophone duo in addition to being the founder of Cross Roads Duo.

​The young, talented artists are dedicated to bring the audience closer to the modern saxophone music literature. The quartet debuted in 2016.

Cross Roads Duo

Zsofia Meszaros and Ilona Miczinger started to work together in 2000 and since then their mission has been to introduce the modern (Hungarian) composers' work to the audience. Cross Roads Duo won the II. Hungarian Competition of Winds and Percussion Instruments in 2015.

Across the Lines Trio

The  surprising agreement between instruments and sound colours: Across the Lines formation. Music of the baroque era and the 20th century, for solo, duo and trio.

Unisono Saxophone Quartett

The four musicians were all students of Johan van der Linden in Utrecht and had numerous concerts in Holland.

European Saxophone Ensemble

The European Saxophone Ensemble has been awarded to the title ambassador of the European Union. The twelve young, talented players were selected during auditions in the EU and they perform on all existing types of saxophone. All compositions were specially composed for the ensemble. Zsofia Meszaros represented Hungary in the ESE for 3 years.

Duo Saxophistique

The Duo debuted in 2015 in Budapest at Museums' Night in Fuga Concert Hall. The same year, the two saxophonists won first price at chamber music category of the II. Hungarian Competition of Winds and Percussion Instruments.
